Welcome everyone to Crestview Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation's Activity Department. A department dedicated to making sure the residents function at their highest potential, both mentally and physically along with meeting their spiritual needs.

Crystal Kerns, State Certified Activity Director, has been with the department since October 2004. I am a member of the West Virginia Activity Professional Association and a member of the West Virginia Therapeutic Recreation Association along with having completed and passed the required 90 hour state approved curriculum for Activity Directors. I am also a newlywed of 1 ½ years as of February 2007 and look forward to the challenges ahead in my new life and new career.

I started in the long-term care setting and activities department as a part-time Activity Aide. I found the job more rewarding than my full time job in more ways than I could have ever imagined. I found myself thinking about the residents when I was away from Crestview and wondering if they were ok and what I could do to help them when I came to work again.

The goal of Activities in Long term care settings is to keep the residents physically active and mentally active in order to avoid depression or any other declines that go along with the aging process. We provide group activities as well as individual attention and room visits daily along with any supplies they may need.

Check out the Activity calendar monthly for a brief overview of the Activities for that month and see if you would like to come and join us. If you wish to contact me via email, please feel free to use crestviewactivities@hotmail.com. I welcome your comments and suggestions.
